Truman Medical Center – University Health II Facility

The new state of the art University Health II Facility is a 77,000 square foot facility located at Truman Medical Center’s Hospital Hill campus Downtown. University Health II focuses on primary care as well as women’s health services and offers more than 70 exam rooms, comfortable waiting areas with eye-catching artwork, interactive technology for enhanced patient/provider communication, and enclosed bridges that are conveniently located to connect the parking garage to the new facility as well as the new facility to the University Health II medical office building.

What We Did

Taliaferro & Browne provided civil engineering including site layout, site grading, utility design & coordination, sidewalk & curb replacement, and storm sewer design. T&B’s team also assisted in replacing the existing entrance with a roundabout entrance to improve traffic flow through area. T&B’s structural team installed new boilers and chillers on the existing Truman Medical Center roof and enclosed them in two new structures. This included the loading analysis of the existing structure, bracing support designs, framing design for new structures, and construction administration. T&B also prepared an urban redevelopment (UR) plan as well as a topographic and boundary survey for the project.
